Let 2015 be the year we make more time for friends

It’s February and if you are anything like me, you have probably failed your New Years resolutions already. A Friend of mine makes resolutions in February instead so when everyone is giving up on eating clean and running three times a week, she keeps going as she has just started. On the note of resolutions, how about making a February one, one to make more time for friends. No better way to do this, than to book a date for a weekend or week break together to catch up.

I love getting a group of friends together to catch up or celebrate a special moment, birthday or marriage. I’ve stayed all over the uk experiencing some great times and think Norfolk is definitely up there with the best locations.
So I’ve hunted out some properties that could provide a sophisticated host for a fabulous weekend friend catch up or maybe even a Hen or Stag do. The largest sleeps up to 11 and would allow day visitors.

Let’s start at the glamorous end, Swanton Cottage, in Swanton Novers in North Norfolk http://www.swantoncottagenorfolk.co.uk

Swanton Cottage is anything but a cottage, it has a very grand country house feel. From the high quality furnishings to the expansive living accommodation and grounds. Swanton Cottage is a great place to unwind in a beautiful part of North Norfolk. Swanton Cottage has 5 bedrooms, sleeping 11 plus cots.

There are huge lawns, country kitchen with large dining table, opulent bedrooms including a 4 poster bed, 3 en-suite rooms, formal dining room, al-fresco dining for all with BBQ, recently built tarmac tennis court, large field and area to meander around (great for wildlife watching), cinema bedroom, several TV or music areas, Wi Fi and a games console. It’s just beautiful! (Photos in the blog are at the end- website provides more info with pricing)

So on to the next Park Farm Barn, http://www.parkfarmbarnnorfolk.co.uk – this can’t be used for Hen or Stag Do’s but makes a great venue for groups.
Park Farm Barn is a 4 bed barn conversion in a beautiful North Norfolk rural location offering parkland views. Boasting a Hot Tub and games room. Space for a weekend of relaxation, chatting and games. The sumptuous space available swallows large numbers of guests with ease and creates a welcoming feeling, an experience that guests often want to repeat.

The barn can sleep 10 and it is situated 7 miles south east of the gorgeous Georgian town of Holt which offers excellent shops, boutiques, galleries, cafes, delis and restaurants. The barn is 9 miles from the North Norfolk Coast, you have to visit the sea it’s essential, if you can tear your selves away from the hot tub that is.

The third is The Moorings, on The Norfolk Broads. This is close to The city of Norwich and opens up huge possibilities for activities better suited to the city dweller.

It’s slightly smaller as it Sleeps 8 adults, it has private landscaped gardens with open air hot tub and a 6-seater day boat. It also has a games room with pool table. It’s cosy and welcoming with an open log fire. There is also a great Riverside pub & restaurant within 250 yards, I’ve seen them BBQ outside in the summer. The food has great reviews.

With all of these properties situated in Norfolk, there is lots available to do. There’s the sea, fish & chips, boutiques and even seal watching boat trips (look at my last blog). However my guess is, with some well researched party games and searching out the local pubs and restaurants for food you could probably stay put for the whole weekend at any of these properties.

Booking can be made easy with Norfolk’s hidden gems, can’t wait to hear from you http://www.norfolkshiddengems.co.uk. Mention the blog when you book and we will provide a wonderful welcome pack free of charge.
