Norfolk Events & Festivals 2017

There are some fabulous Events and Festivals in 2017, check them out here.

Feb: Check out this February Half term fun Blog February Half Term Family Fun 2017

18th Feb, Sheringham Viking Festival, viking street battles, Oddfellows Hall Battles Commence at 1pm and 4pm. More viking fun at Sheringham museum. Torch and Light parade starts at 6pm on station approach. More info,


March: 4th March, Screen-next-the-sea Film Festival. The theme is “Couples”. They aim to screen at least 4 or 6 films during the day and into the evening.

April: 4th April, Norfolk Spring Fling, Norfolk Showground. A day festival, buy tickets here,


May: 5-7th May, Folk on the Pier. Held every year at the Pavilion Theatre on Cromer Pier in Cromer, Folk on the Pier is a well renowned showcase for the finest folk, and folk-rock acts from the UK and beyond. Check out for more information.

20-22nd May, Crab and Lobster Festival, a weekend of celebrating the importance of crabs and lobsters to Cromer & A feast of fun, food, heritage, art and music.

27th May – 11th June Open Studios, not a festival as such but very inspiring Art, and where better to go see art than next to the sea.

June: 24th June- 9th Sept, Cromer Pier Summer Show 1 & 2, In it’s 40th Year. Excellent family entertainment. People keep come back year after year.

July: 6th July – 6th August 2017, Cley 17: CONNECTIVITY. A great Annual Art exhibition.

22nd-30th July, Holt festival. The first details of the programme for 2017 will be announced on February 27th 2017. has lots of lovely local accommodation.

29th July-6th Aug, Sheringham Carnival, Carnival day will be Wed 2nd Aug.

August: 12th-18th August, Cromer Carnival, will be held from Saturday 12th August to Friday 18th August, with Carnival Day being held on Wednesday 16th August.

12th August, Great British Proms, 8-10.30pm at Blicking. Early bird tickets on sale now.


September:15th-17th September, The Wells Pirate Festival, A family weekend of swashbuckling fun and adventure.

16th-17th September, 1940’s Weekend, Sheringham. The Forties Weekend on the Norfolk Poppy Line Railway (part of the North Norfolk Railway) has become a very popular event. Spend a day in the 1940s, dress up if you want to and travel on the steam trains between Sheringham and Holt (High Kelling).

October: Half term fun will be explored in a separate blog, so keep your eyes peeled.

November: 25th Nov-30th Dec, Christmas Show , Cromer Pier-

There are many fire work displays, bon fires and all sorts in November, so keep an eye out for updates throughout 2017.

December: There is always lots going on, including turning on of the lights
